Walkden Town Centre was buzzing with holiday cheer as the Winter Wonderland event from Walkden Community unfolded. Hosted by the fantastic Darren Proctor, Michelle Eagleton, and Spence MacDonald from Happy Radio, the event was a hit with families and visitors of all ages.

The day kicked off at 10am with the opening of craft markets, offering unique Christmas gifts. By 12pm, the entertainment stage was alive with talented community dancers and singers, keeping the festive spirit high until 4pm.

Highlight of the day was the headline act, Moon Candy Band, who brought an electric atmosphere to the stage. Their performance was a true testament to the talent we have in our community.

A special visit from Santa around 2.30pm, facilitated by The Rotary Club, was a magical moment for the kids, who also enjoyed FREE sand art activities outside Clouds and other fun engagements like face painting and glitter faces.

Food and drink were in abundance, thanks to Hug in a Mug, ensuring everyone was well-fed and merry. The range of activities, from tombolas and hook a duck to the Wall of Luck, added an extra layer of fun to the day.

It was a day filled with laughter, entertainment, and community spirit – a perfect way to kick off the festive season in Walkden.
