Celebrate Salford’s centenary with a free family day out in Walkden
Join us for Autumn Together: Salford 100, a free community event at the bandstand in Parr Fold Park, Walkden. Taking place on Saturday 26 September, 12–3pm, it’s a relaxed afternoon of Salford-themed activities and entertainment for all ages — and it’s completely free.
Whether you’re after something to do with the children on a Saturday afternoon or simply fancy a wander through the park, there’s plenty to enjoy.
What’s on
There’s a full afternoon of free activities to dip in and out of:
- Willow weaving — have a go at a traditional craft
- Arts & crafts — creative fun for all ages
- Face painting — always a favourite with little ones
- Sound Trail — an interactive audio walk around the park (you’ll need a smartphone for this one)
Live music
Enjoy a performance from the Besses O’Th Barn Brass Band, one of the region’s most celebrated brass bands, from the bandstand.
Food and drink
Refreshments are available throughout the day from Carrs Pasties, Brew’d Coffee Pod and The Pavilion Café, so you can make an afternoon of it.
